If you want to increase customer satisfaction and grow profits, improve your employee engagement scores.

The statistics and research are very clear. Millions and millions of dollars have been spent on research by the Gallup Organization to create a feedback system to find out the meaning of successful employee engagement. The study developed a 12-question survey to identify the strong feelings around employee engagement. The questions covered everything from asking about having a mentor at work to “in the last six months, has someone at work talked to you about your progress?” Many other research firms on measuring the effectiveness of human capital have concurred.

Results from these studies were not surprising to AIG in that there was a strong indication that the more the company cared about their employees on a day-to-day basis, the higher the score and greater productivity from the engaged employees.

As the saying goes, it isn’t rocket science. Successful companies know that the key is to get employees keenly focused on objectives and behaviors that will help them be stars and in turn, have that same feeling of success spill over to customers. People want to work with successful people.
